What Are The Benefits Of A Facial?

Benefits of regular facials include stimulating the skin through facial massage manipulations to increase blood flow and circulation, aids in lymphatic drainage, loosens dead skin, unclogs pores and decongests dull, lack-luster skin opening up the pores for extractions.  Facials also put moisture and hydration back in that lessens the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, sluggish skin, puffiness and sagging reduction as well as skin cell renewal.  Our facial packs a punch!  The power of our signature facial is not only a stress reliever, it renders noticeable results you can see and feel. Whether you experience sensitive/ rosacea/ inflamed skin, acne/problematic skin, hyperpigmentation/sun spots, are anti-aging or just simply preventative, getting a regular Epigenetics Aesthetics signature facial is the first step to healthier, younger and glowing skin.

How Often Should You Get A Facial?

The skin cells on our face turns over monthly- every 28-36 days, on average.  As we age, this cell turnover time lessens meaning dead skin can sit and accumulate on the top layers of our face (can be mistaken for fine lines and wrinkles!) if not exfoliated which can actually flatten out the plumpness in your skin giving the appearance of dehydrated and aged-skin.  Facials are recommended monthly (4-6 weeks apart) for this reason and to keep healthy skin coming and and keeping the skin moving along.  For those who are dealing with acneic and problematic skin, receiving a facial every 4 weeks is ideal when combatting and tackling such issues.  We recommend pairing a dermaplane for any skin type with a facial for a deeper exfoliation of dead skin cells making for the efficacious penetration of our corrective skin care products.

Is There An At-Home Skin Care Routine You Should Be Doing?

Facials are so much more than the treatment itself.  Protecting our investment in facials and other treatments with great skin care, is an absolute MUST. Your aesthetician will recommend a comprehensive skin care regimen for at home to carry on the benefits of your facial and subsequent services going forward.  The Epigenetics Aesthetics line is carefully and thoughtfully created using only the most natural and pure ingredients that are healing and corrective. Skin care doesn’t have to be complicated or overwhelming!  Our aesthetician will keep all the guess-work out and keep it simple by recommending only necessary products your skin needs as well as educate and offer information on skin health and skin nutrition.

Dermaplane Treatments

Dermaplane is simply the exfoliation of the top 2 and 3 dead layers of the epidermis. This procedure is done by using a scalpel and a blade that gently etches up the dead skin and vellus hairs leaving skin very soft, dewy and glowing. This improves the appearance of fine lines, dehydrated skin and evens out texture as well as improving some pigment appearance. It is similar to most commonly known microdermabrasion, the gold-standard of exfoliation, however dermaplane provides a deeper exfoliation of the dead skin and the bonus is the removal of the fine hairs on the face.

Great for nearly every skin type, a great addition to any skin treatment, no downtime and is usually done monthly as the skin turns over every 28-36 days.
