One of the most common questions we get at the Epigenetics Healing Center is a basic one — what does “Epigenetics healing” even mean?
One way to think about it is to imagine the metaphor of a circuit breaker. Think of your body as room covered with a billion circuit breakers; the majority of them are turned off or dormant, but a few of them are flipped.
Now think of the factors we look at, such as your diet, sleep or organ function, as electrical currents. When enough of these currents misfire, they cause enough surge in the system to flip the circuits. When those switches flip, they turn on your chronic conditions.
Factors We Test For You
At the Epigenetics Healing Center, we want to help you turn those circuits back off, so to speak. We work to empower your body to heal its condition (whether that be rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s Disease, diabetes, fibromyalgia, or another condition) without the use of harsh medications.
To get to the root of your symptoms, we test several competing factors that impact your overall health and wellness, including:
Stressors
Stress plays a big role in your body’s ability to heal itself. Stress can influence the way you function at nearly every level, which is part of the reason why we take it so seriously. If we discover your stress levels are too high, we’ll work with you to bring them down to a healthy place so your body can perform at its best.
Diet and Exercise
We really do believe that you are what you eat. Having the right nutrients in your body and making sure you stay active are two very important factors that, if done well, can help your body heal chronic conditions. We’ll look at your diet and exercise routine and empower you to make positive changes that will ease your chronic conditions over time.
Water
Our bodies need water to perform every vital function. Some surveys have shown that up to 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated, and the vast majority of people who are don’t realize it. We will look at your water intake and help you get it to the necessary level to encourage your body to heal.
Sleep
Ah, sleep. We all want to do more of it, but sometimes life and our bodies prevent it from happening. Our bodies take time to restore themselves when we sleep at night. We will look at your sleep schedule and help you make the best plan for getting you more quality, restful sleep.
Organ function
Certain medical tests can tell us big things about how the organs are performing. Unlike traditional doctors, however, we don’t address one result (such as high blood pressure, for example) with a pill and send you home. The results these tests can give us lots of insight into the roots of your conditions and help us develop a plan on how to heal them holistically.
Hormone balance
Different parts of our bodies produce and release hormones to send signals to our brains to make things happen. When one or several of our hormone levels become imbalanced, we can experience a number of unwanted effects. We’ll test your hormone levels to discover any issues and find the right combination of factors to help you change in order to bring them back to normal.
Personal Fulfillment
Unlike traditional medicine, epigenetics healing takes the mind, body and spirit into account when looking at you as a whole person, rather than as a list of conditions. Are you satisfied with your career? Do you feel like you have a purpose in life? Are you at peace spiritually or emotionally? We’ll look at the answers to these questions and more when deciding on a healing strategy.
Getting to the Root of the Cause
Whatever disease you’re dealing with at this point in time, its an adaptation caused by stressors placed upon the body. As we remove all those stressors and amplify positive functions, we can bring your body back to a natural place of balance.
Let’s go back to our original metaphor. Typically, when we successfully balance the body, we can flip back those triggered circuit breakers, and your chronic symptoms will go away.
